Prof. Gaspardo from ESB held a speech at UCSC
4th March 2014Dr. Phil. Nello Gaspardo from ESB was welcomed Thursday 27th February at Università Cattolica in Piacenza, where he held a speech in German: “Berufsperspektiven in Deutschland und kommunikative Anforderungen an die Bewerber” (Work perspectives and required communicative skills in Germany).
High school students were the main addressees of the lecture, and Double Degree students from the Italian-German link also joined the meeting. Prof. Gaspardo talked about the ongoing “war for talent” in the job market and highlighted the dynamic nature of the German labour market. He focused on communicative, linguistic and social skills, that are more and more required competences for the job placement both in the domestic and international job market. Double Degree students possess an hedge over other domestic students as they work and study in two countries, but also because they meet and handle many different cultures in the programme developing such skills like work in team group, face an interview with a foreign employer.
All high school teachers, and particularly language teachers are very thankful to the International Relations Office and the Faculty of Economics and Law for organizing such formative events and informing students ahead of time about the possibilities offered by Univerisità Cattolica to meet the needs of future employers.
