Dr. Paul Davis (SFHEA) of Dublin City University Business School recently contributed an insightful article to RTE‘s Brainstorm platform examining the relationship between statistics, media narratives and public trust.
In the piece, Dr Davis explores how data is interpreted and communicated in contemporary media environments, and how algorithms and framing can influence public perception and understanding. At a time when quantitative information is central to policy debate, institutional decision-making and public discourse, his analysis underscores the importance of statistical literacy and critical engagement.
The article offers a thoughtful and evidence-based reflection on the responsibilities of researchers, communicators and institutions in fostering informed, transparent dialogue.
A valuable contribution to ongoing discussions around data, trust and public understanding — and a timely reminder of the role universities such as Dublin City University play in advancing informed civic debate. Read full article – https://lnkd.in/d749eSH3
