Dublin City University Business School had the pleasure of hosting a five-day accredited Anti-Corruption Challenge, led by Professor Rob Gillanders.

This intensive module brought together students from across our ECIU partner universities, alongside three DCU students, creating a truly diverse and collaborative learning environment.

Throughout the week, students explored how corruption is defined and measured, examined its economic and societal costs, and developed practical, evidence-based anti-corruption interventions.

The module combined lectures and workshops with valuable contributions from external stakeholders, including Inspector Ruairí Nestor from An Garda Síochána and John Devitt, Chief Executive, Transparency International Ireland. Students also heard from Michael Breen, Associate Professor International Political Economy, DCU & member of the Government’s Advisory Council against Economic Crime & Corruption.

It was inspiring to see students from across the ECIU network come together to tackle such a complex global challenge, and it served as a powerful example of what cross-university collaboration can achieve.

🔎 Employment of seniors and artificial intelligence: two major challenges in the workplace. To better understand them, NEOMA is launching the Research Chair in “Business Dynamics, Productivity, Employment and Human Resources”, led by Gilbert Cette, economist and professor at NEOMA.

At the heart of the work are several essential questions for companies and public decision-makers:
🔸 Does productivity decline at the end of a career? And if so, can this decline be explained by physical and psychological factors, or by a lower investment by companies and employees in training and skills?
🔸 How can AI be disseminated in organizations, especially among seniors?

Supported by the ANCRE Association, this research chair will analyze these key issues for organizations over several years. It also benefits from the support of Philippe Aghion, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2025.

💬 “I believe that this chair has a lot of potential since it addresses the dominant problem of our time: how to restart the growth of our productivity?” explains Philippe Aghion.

💬 “We now have databases of unprecedented richness. This chair gives us the means to produce results that will be referenced,” explains Gilbert Cette.

💬 “The research that matters is the research that transforms and informs decisions. It is essential to understand the world of work and its current changes,” says Delphine Manceau, Chief Executive Officer of NEOMA.

This project is fully in line with NEOMA’s “Engage for the Future” strategic plan: to produce excellent research that is useful to companies and public decision-makers.  This new research chair is supported by the Fondation NEOMA.
