NCSU SUMMER SCHOOL IN REUTLINGEN

On Friday, June 7th, 2013 IPBS partner North Carolina State University’s summer school visited the Stoll Knitting Machine Company’s headquarters, fashion center and flat-knitting machine factory located in Reutlingen, Germany. The STOLL enterprise is known throughout the textile industry for their highly sophisticated technology in the area of developing and manufacturing flat knitting machines and as a developer in the section of Fashion & Technology. Stoll has been in business for 140 years and they currently provide the knitting world across the globe with their first-class machines and design patterns.

We would like to thank Mr. Schellhammer , Mr. Vöhringer, Ms. Eisenlohr, Mr. Hiller, Ms. Meyer and Mr. Kohler for their assistance in organizing this visit and for the detailed information about their company. After our visit we enjoyed some refreshments at Karz, one of Reutlingen’s best beer garden’s to enjoy one of the first warm and sunny days we have had this year!
