The Colour of Wheat: Fostering Community at Università Cattolica
Professor Elena Marta is the President of EDUCatt – Ente per il diritto allo studio dell’Università Cattolica, the non-profit foundation entrusted by Università Cattolica with the task of providing services related to the right of study in favour of students during their university career.
In this interview, she reflects on her work in supporting students’ psychological well-being at Università Cattolica. She shares how EDUCatt helps foster a sense of connection among students, especially through initiatives that address post-pandemic challenges. EDUCatt provides essential services, such as psychological support in English, aiming to guide students through the complexities of university life. Sandeep Goel is one of the newest faces at Elon’s Business School, stepping into the role of Executive in Residence for Fall 2024.
With a career spanning industries like healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and high-tech manufacturing, Sandeep Goel P’27 brings global experience to the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business’ Executive in Residence program.
Goel, the President and CEO of SAYAS Alliance Inc., answered questions about what he hopes to accomplish and how Elon students can benefit.
Mike Pilato (BAcc ’98), President and CEO of Jamieson Wellness Inc., connected with Goodman students during his return to campus.
At a series of small roundtable sessions on Sept. 26, Pilato shared his career journey and insights to answer the personal questions of current students. Ranging from school advice to guidance for their careers ahead, some of the day’s takeaways include:
⚖ Be well-rounded – beyond achieving good grades, also focus on gaining practical experiences and enjoying your time in school.
💪 Just get started – no career path is perfect or linear. Dive into the foundational years of your career and discover what you’re good at.
🤝 Stay connected – networking, but more importantly, staying connected with your network is vital to career growth.

Crowds cheered for BBA Double Degree student Mitchell Chan at the 2024 Paris Games 📣
While he didn’t compete himself, Chan did work the Paris Olympics and Paralympics this summer. The unique opportunity arose by staying on the team at Mainfreight once his international co-op term finished.
Fans erupted when Chan got on a bike at the Games as part of quality control – bringing his own Olympic dream to life. “It was an incredible moment,” Chan recalls. “In French, they say ‘Prends plaisir’ — find pleasure in the moments. I feel blessed this happened, that I had the chance to do this.”
Now, the fourth-year student’s dreams continue to come true as he’s embarked on an apprenticeship in France while finishing a handful of courses at Goodman.
“I’m thankful for so many things,” Chan says. “If I wasn’t in the double degree program, this wouldn’t have happened. I can’t speak highly enough of the program.” Read the full story ➡ https://lnkd.in/ge7x7eUH

U.S. News again names Elon the best in the nation for teaching undergraduates
Elon University has been ranked #1 in the nation for excellence in undergraduate teaching for a fourth consecutive year by peer universities, according to the annual rankings released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report.
U.S. News & World Report asks higher education leaders each year about institutions that perform at the highest levels. Since joining the National Universities category in 2019, Elon has ranked #1 or #2 among the list of institutions that offer the highest quality of undergraduate instruction.
Dublin City University is now ranked among the top 400 universities in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
Dublin City University is 301st in the world for research environment (research productivity and reputation). Speaking about the 2025 rankings, Prof Daire Keogh, President of Dublin City University said:
“This is a welcome affirmation that the University is delivering on its enduring mission to ‘transform lives and societies’. Our position, among the world’s top 400 universities, speaks to the excellence of DCU’s research, the positive impact we make on our wider world and the transformative education we provide for our students.
