This week, 250 accounting students met face-to-face with 30 CPA firms during our annual CPA Days event hosted in partnership with Brock University Co-op, Career & Experiential Education. This two-day drop-in networking event provided students the invaluable opportunity to explore career prospects and build connections with industry professionals. The energy in the room was palpable!
Among the employer representatives were 28 alumni eager to share insights into their corporate culture, services and employment opportunities. It was a joy to see you all back on Brock University‘s campus. đ
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all participating employers for sharing your time, insights and enthusiasm; and to our students for your preparedness, professionalism, and curiosity.

đâ¨Â On September 25th, 2025, Sophie Raynaud successfully defended her doctoral dissertation in Paris â the first joint PhD (cotutelle) between NEOMA Business School and Facultad de Empresariales (Comillas ICADE).
Her thesis, âThe Phoebe Buffay Paradox: Analysing Sustainable Consumer Stereotyping Processes in Popular Sitcomsâ, supervised by Carmen Valor, Maria Carolina Zanette and Paolo ANTONETTI, explores how media stereotypes about sustainable consumption shape public perceptions and behaviours. In times of climate crisis, this research sheds light on how popular culture may either enable or hinder the transition towards responsible consumer citizenship.
The jury â Pierrick Gomez, Olga Kravets, Hunter Jones, Fabien Pecot, and Victoria Labajo â praised the thesis for its originality, depth, and significant academic contribution. This defense not only represents an important milestone for Sophieâs academic career, but also for the collaboration between Comillas and NEOMA Business School, opening doors for future joint research and doctoral initiatives.
