Elon Business Fellows in the UAE: Innovation, Culture, and Global Influence
Second-year Business Fellows recently traveled to Dubai and Abu Dhabi during the Winter Term, immersing themselves in the region’s blend of global business, cultural heritage and innovation.
“Seeing Dubai’s port and realizing how carefully they invest in vital industries was an eye-opener,” said Alexa Sarmiere ’27, a finance major from Raleigh, North Carolina. “It’s not just luck that made the United Arab Emirates wealthy—it’s strategic decisions and a forward-thinking mindset.” Students noted a strong emphasis on relationship-building.
Dublin City University Business School are hosting a dedicated symposium on online harms in sport on Wednesday, 26th February in the Solas Room, KA202, DCU U Student Centre as part of International Research Week!
Led by Professor Gary Sinclair, DCU Business & Society Lead for Research on Online Harms in Sport, this session will bring together researchers, industry experts, and policymakers to discuss the growing challenge of online abuse in sport and explore ways to combat it.
FGU Excellence Award– Julian Limmer receives recognition for his outstanding thesis 🏆
The FGU Excellence Award, presented annually by the Franco-German University (FGU), recognises exceptional theses from students in Franco-German degree programmes. The award celebrates work that promotes collaboration and understanding between France and Germany, enhancing the European academic experience. 🤝🇪🇺
We are proud to celebrate our student Julian Limmer, who was honoured with the FGU Excellence Award 2025 for his thesis, “How does the entrepreneurial ecosystem impact the success of start-ups? An analysis of Station F.” Julian’s research sheds light on how entrepreneurial ecosystems, like Station F, contribute to the success of startups. Station F, the world’s largest start-up hub located in Paris, offers support systems, networks, and resources that foster growth and innovation. 📈
NEOMA – Higher Education and Research in an Uncertain World: The Perspective of Delphine Manceau
Delphine Manceau, Dean of NEOMA, was the guest speaker at the round table “Higher education and research in the face of growing international instability” organised as part of the Think Education & Research by the News Tank Education media. This event brings together key players from the academic world each year for a day of debates on the challenges of higher education.
Under the umbrella theme “Progress in an uncertain world”, the impact of geopolitical upheavals on education and student mobility was at the heart of the reflections of the 2025 edition.
A member of the board of the AACSB (US accreditation body evaluating the quality of business school training), Delphine Manceau gave her vision of the necessary adaptation of the major management schools to an international context marked by withdrawal and uncertainty.
