CAREER DAY AT PARTNER SCHOOL CATTOLICA, ITALY

The 8th May UCSC Piacenza Campus changed into a real market where demand and offer could meet each other thanks to the biggest event of the year: the Career Day Cattolica. It is a great opportunity not only for graduate or graduating students to meet important companies, (among them: Bayer Cropscience, Cariparma Crédit Agricole, Ernst & Young, Ferrero, Generali, Ikea Italia Distribution, Lidl, Procter & Gamble, Randstad Italia, White & Case), and become aware of their expectations, but also for Double Degree students to get in touch with the Italian labour market and look for a company where they could do their internship afterwards. The event has become definitely social in terms of communication and it was promoted via Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and on the web.

Career Day Cattolica was organized by the Stage&Placement Office. Not only did the students meet the companies at the 53 stands, but they also took part to the 10 seminars focused on the skills and competences that the companies are looking for and that students should have to enter the world of work successfully. Fabio Paratici, sporting director of the Juventus F.C. national football team, was among the guests.

A training point was set up for Italian and English CV check and job interviews with the HR of some of the 150 Italian and multinational companies attending the event. Moreover, the social web magazine StudentsLife, media partner of the event, challenged the students with a Video CV competition with three final prizes: an IPad 4G, an IPHONE 5 and a summer language course in Dublin. The second prize was won by Audrey Boudet (Double Degree Program student, NEOMA Business School – Reims).

Our Faculty of Economics and Law and UCSC in general have a strong relation with the world of work and tries to shape its academic offer according to the expectations of the national and international labour market.
