Lancaster University hosted the Universities UK International Mobility Conference, a day all about supporting global experiences for students. Attendees shared ideas and innovations around and heard from students about their travel experiences while studying.

DCU Alumni of the Week: Dirk Meier

We are thrilled to showcase Dirk Meier, an esteemed alumnus embodying the global ethos of DCU Business School.

Dirk embarked on a remarkable academic journey, pursuing a Double Degree in Global Business at ESB Reutlingen Alumni e.V.. and Dublin City University culminating in his graduation in 2015.

As a Director at Strategy&, the esteemed global Strategy Consulting Practice of PwC, Dirk specializes in revolutionizing the Automotive and Industrial sectors. His expertise spans Cost Transformation, M&A counsel, and spearheading Launch Task Forces. Notably, Dirk’s leadership in Strategy&’s US Task Forces has been pivotal in aiding automotive manufacturers and tier-1s in navigating critical or failing vehicle launches. His recent publication, “Automakers and Suppliers have a failure-to-launch problem. How can they fix it?” underscores his thought leadership (link: https://lnkd.in/eYFsfmM6)

Dirk’s personal and professional odyssey is a testament to his international acumen. Hailing from Germany, he has traversed continents, living in France for five years, contributing to Mercedes-Benz in South Africa, and shaping strategies for Rocket Internet in India and the Philippines. His consulting journey began in Munich, and he now calls San Diego home, orchestrating global operations for his esteemed clientele.

North Carolina State University Poole College students are competing against 19 top business schools at the prestigious Belgrade Business International Case Competition in Serbia.

Please show your support for our team, which consists of Adarsh Arun, Emma Collins, Radhika Kulkarni, Truman Qu, and their advisor, Dr. Pieter Verhallen, Ph.D.!

They have tackled two 5-hour cases and are currently tackling a 24-hour case, on real issues from real companies, presenting their solutions in front of panels of company leadership and industry executives.

Orey Higgins, Aaroh Bhargava, and Daniel Lenehan, currently in their second year, were honored with the prestigious Martin Hannon Memorial award for their outstanding performance in their first-year exams at the recent PwC prizegiving lunch.

Not stopping there, current AF2 students Colleen Hughes, Claudia Gonley, Lauren Harrison, and Orla O Mahony were also recognized for their stellar achievements in Financial Accounting exams, showcasing their dedication and commitment to excellence. Not forgetting their lecturer, Amanda Heeney, we are proud to celebrate their success together!

Students at DCU recently had this exciting opportunity to engage with entrepreneurship students from Babson College in an online peer coaching workshop.

In an interactive peer coaching session, our students reviewed three excellent business pitches from Babson College teams and provided constructive feedback. Thank you to Mary Gale and Jack McCarthy from Babson College and Cliona McParland from Dublin City University for orchestrating this collaborative learning experience for both set of students. #leadershipdevelopment #enterpreneurship #collaboration #future
