The QS by Subject ranking continues to highlight the academic prestige of Comillas

Comillas Pontifical University continues to demonstrate its excellence, solidity and research impact in the main areas of knowledge in which it works, as demonstrated by the recently published edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024.

ESB International Staff Days – International Friendships and “Skills for Future”

“During our International Staff Days, it’s all about meeting colleagues and friends, exchanging ideas and experiences, and catching up with the latest developments at our partner institutions,” says Professor Dr. Andreas Taschner, Head of International Relations at ESB Business School. From April 15 to 18, ESB welcomed 21 colleagues from international partner universities to the ESB International Staff Days.

The four-day programme encompassed a mix of expert workshops, presentations, and focus groups, along with a company visit to the Lidl in Germany Head Office. Participants also had the opportunity to discover the city of Reutlingen, experience the ESB culture during the International Campus Day, and get a taste of the local Swabian culture and cuisine.

DCU Business School had the pleasure of hosting the MARGISTAR Annual Meeting.

A research partner of DCU through The Irish Institute of Digital Business (dotLAB), MARGISTAR is a forum for collaboration between scientists, stakeholders, and policymakers to reflect on the challenges for sustainability in mountainous regions while moving progressively towards real-world solutions. During this meeting, team members shared project updates and reviewed the work that was done during the previous COST Action Grant Periods, highlights of their Working Groups, and plans for the future of their self-organised work projects, the upcoming training school, and MARGISTAR‘s first policy brief.

Elon team places 2nd at Venture Capital Investment Competition

A team of Elon University students placed second in the regional finals of a national contest designed for college students with an interest in venture capitalism.

Guided by S. Drew Peabody, PhD, an assistant professor of finance, and Alyssa Martina, executive director of the Doherty Center for Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the team competed in February in the Undergraduate East Regional Finals of the Venture Capital Investment Competition.

The Venture Capital Investment Competition challenges participants to step into the shoes of venture capitalists, evaluating real startups and making informed investment decisions. Elon’s team members all completed FIN4790 – Venture Capital Financing, a course offered by Peabody and Martina in the Fall.

Elon’s team placed ahead of teams from the University of Pittsburgh, Georgia Institute of Technology, American University and Emory University. Miami University advanced to the Global Finals coming in 2nd overall.
