The latest world university rankings by subject were released. Lancaster University is very proud to have nine subjects in the global top 100, with Linguistics ranked third in the world, and English Language and Literature, and Marketing in the top 50!

Univerisità Cattolica del Sacro Cuore at Futura Expo 2025
From 7 to 9 March, the Catholic University – Brescia branch was among the protagonists of Futura Expo 2025 at the Brixia Forum, a major event dedicated to sustainability and innovation.
During the inauguration, international politics and the challenges that Europe is facing were discussed. Among the experts, also Professor Damiano Palano, director of ASERI – Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, who shared his point of view on this complex historical moment.In the Cattolica stand, on the other hand, space for the future with an installation that allowed visitors to explore a visual representation of tomorrow thanks to Artificial Intelligence.

The African continent is a future market for many German companies. Tapping into it poses challenges, particularly for SMEs. With his research group “Doing Business in Africa”, Professor Philipp von Carlowitz is investigating which strategies promise success. The think tank is now receiving 1.4 million euros over a period of four years from the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany). “What makes us unique in applied research is the pure corporate perspective with regard to African markets”, says the professor of International and Strategic Management.

🦾 Challenges & Opportunities: Lionel Souque discussed navigating inflation, competition in retail business, and evolving consumer habits. The focus is on customer loyalty, fair pricing, and an efficient supply chain to ensure sustainable success.
👥 People First: Despite technological innovations, the REWE Group CEO emphasised that “Retail will always be a people business – for people.” Investing in employees, fostering a strong company culture, and empowering teams are key priorities.
