North Carolina State University Launches 4 New Master’s Programs to Strengthen Graduate Portfolio
The new degrees—the Master of Science in Global One Health, Master of Science in cybersecurity, a Master in Agricultural Business Management (MABM), and Master of Science in wide bandgap semiconductors (MSWBGS)—are designed to meet evolving workforce needs while expanding NC State’s leadership in frontier research and interdisciplinary education.
These programs build on NC State’s excellence in science, technology, agriculture, engineering and design. They prepare students to contribute to high-growth sectors shaping the 21st-century economy, from advanced chips to integrated global health solutions.
A new pathway has opened for aspiring CPAs, requiring less coursework, but graduate study remains key to long-term career success. 💡 📚
- There are now two pathways to becoming a CPA. They vary in how much coursework each requires.
- The alternative pathway prepares individuals to enter the accounting profession, while the traditional pathway prepares them for success in the accounting profession.

StudyCheck Award 2026: Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences receives top ratings again!
For the independent university ranking, StudyCheck evaluated around 87,000 student ratings from 2025. The results show that the Reutlingen campus is once again one of the most popular places to study in Germany this year. In a nationwide comparison with universities and colleges, Reutlingen once again secures a place among the top ten (award: TOP University) and thus confirms its top position in a nationwide comparison. At the state level, they even manage to take 2nd place! In addition, Reutlingen University also received the Category Award. In the category of medium-sized universities in Germany with 5,000 – 15,000 enrolled students, Reutlingen occupies an excellent 3rd place.
University President Prof. Dr. Sabine Löbbe is delighted with the repeated strong ranking: “The evaluations of our students are an important indicator for us and give us valuable impulses for the continuous development of our study programmes. The good result once again is a great recognition of the commitment of all lecturers and staff. Poole College Welcomes Savita Sharma as New Assistant Dean for Finance and Business Operations
The Poole College of Management welcomes Savita Sharma as the new Assistant Dean for Finance and Business Operations, effective Feb. 1.
“I am truly excited to join the Poole College team and look forward to building on its strong foundation to support its exceptional faculty, staff and students,” says Sharma.
The Assistant Dean for Finance and Business Operations is in charge of making and executing Poole’s financial and operational strategy. The role is responsible for budgeting, financial forecasting, risk management and compliance. She’ll also be the primary liaison to university offices and external partners.
“We are delighted to welcome Savita to the Poole College of Management,” says Dean Frank Buckless. “Her proven expertise in operational leadership, financial oversight and strategic implementation — combined with her ability to build collaborative, high-performing teams — uniquely position Savita to have immediate impact as a member of our leadership team and to help advance the college’s strategic goals.”
Sharma comes to Poole from the NC State Graduate School, where she has served as the Assistant Dean for Finance, Operations and IT since 2020. She oversaw budget, finance, HR and IT functions for the program, balancing current needs with long-term fiscal goals. She was specifically in charge of budgeting, financial reporting, procurement and contract operations, and also led the Graduate Student Support Plan administration and finances.
